Striker Asamoah Gyan has warned politicians to stay off football in the latest twist of the ongoing feud between the Ghana FA and the Government.

Football activities in the West African country has grinded to a halt following the decision of Government to dissolve the GFA.

This was after the screening of an undercover documentary by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas over alleged acts of corruption by referees and some members of the Ghana FA to the Ghanaian public.

Government has since gone to court to commence legal proceedings towards the dissolution of the GFA while securing an injunction to halt all football related activities.

The brunt of Government’s move is already being felt by industry players with some clubs already contemplating folding up.

And Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has cautioned politicians to keep off the running of the sport.

“I have said it and I will say it again; football and politics cannot work,” he said.

“This is all I can say for now but for sure football and politics is a no.”

Government has since been engaging FIFA in ensuring Ghana is not banned from football.
