The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been accused of breaching Ghana Education Service’s (GES’s) rules and regulations barring party politic activities on the campuses of various Senior High Schools (SHSs) in the country.

“Is the President telling us that he is more important than John Mahama and any other Ghanaian?”, National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organizer, Joshua Hamidu Akamba fumed during an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com on a local radio station in Kumasi.

According to the NDC National Executive, he will soon lead youth groups in the party to take their campaign train to schools and colleges in the country to propagate the works of former President and the party’s 2020 presidential candidate John Mahama.

Mr Akamba in the run-up to the NDC National Executive contest was said to have violated the code of conduct of the GES by campaigning at Tempane Senior High School in the Upper East Region.

Joshua Akamba was seen in a video inciting some students of the school against government’s free SHS policy.

He asked the students if they were experiencing issues with bedbugs in their dormitories as a result of congestion which has been occasioned by the free SHS policy, to which they responded in the affirmative. He made the students show their bedbug bite scars to the cameras and promised them their challenges would be over in 2020 if they vote out the NPP.

He got the students to hoot at the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Following the visit of the President to some Senior High Schools in the Upper East Region, he said “I will resume my campaign to SHSs soon since we are all Ghanaians”
