Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu risks being dealt with the same laws he is using to haunt others including the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bawku Central Mahama Ayariga, an executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned.

The Nyiaeso Constituency Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Evangelist Prah is hinting that Mr. Amidu could face prosecution under next NDC government if he fails to deliver on his mandate as enshrined in the Special Prosecutor’s bill.

Ghanaians and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and some members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NDC) have over the years questioned why the Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu is not biting corrupt officials but appears to be dragging his feet in his pursuit of corrupt persons.

Some have described the Special Prosecutor as a man who doesn’t have the ability to fight corruption considering the wallow period he stayed in office without proving he is the same person who through his antigraft activities earned the accolade citizen vigilante.

The NDC executive in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said Mr Martin Amidu as Special Prosecutor is not above the law insisting that the law will deal with him if he fails to justify why several millions of Ghana cedis have been channeled to his office to fight corruption.

According to him, taxpayers’ money has been used to fund the office of the Special Prosecutor saying Martin Amidu should therefore not be spared in the event he does not live up to expectation.

“At first Mr Martin Amidu told Ghanaians that he doesn’t have office to operate but now he has office. Government gave his office huge amount of money as captured in the 2018 budget. He has everything to deliver. He shouldn’t fail Ghanaians because he will face the law if he fail to deliver”

“Like the way the law was allowed to deal with former Electoral Commission (EC) Boss, Madam Charlotte Osei, the same laws will be applied in the case of Mr. Martin Amidu because he is not above the laws of this country” he said.
