Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has not agreed personal terms with Arsenal, www.ghanaweb.com understands.
Reports emerged last week that the 25-year-old has reached an agreement with the London side, paving way for negotiations between the two club.
It was further claimed that an announcement on Partey’s future was imminent with Arsenal believed to be his next destination.
But a source close to the player has told GhanaWeb that the reports are untrue and must be treated with contempt.
While confirming negotiations between the two parties, our source indicated that common ground is yet to be found.
He added that while a move England appeals to the players, an extension of his stay at Atletico Madrid cannot be ruled out.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is said to be a big fan of the Ghanaian is determined to bring him to the Emirates.
With Torreira rumored to be interested in a return to Italy, Arteta sees the Black Stars midfielder as the perfect replacement for the Uruguayan.
Partey is under pressure to make a move to England and walk in the steps of Chelsea legend Michael Essien.
His father has publicly urged him to join Arsenal while his close pal in the national team, Nuhu Adams has also endorsed a move to North London.
