UBA Ghana boost health of workers through 'Jogging to Bond' exercise

Staff of the United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited, on Saturday March 16 kick start its 1st quarter Jogging to Bond exercise to boost the health and strengthen relationships among staff.

The first quarterly exercise with the theme “UBA Mini Olympics” was held at the Accra Academy SHS. 19 business offices within Accra converged to grace the morning.

Prior to the games, staff of the Bank embarked on a jogging exercise through some principal streets within the catchment area to warm up for the games.

The event witnessed a facelift as it featured Pill Pharmaceuticals who took staff through various health screenings including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, nutrition and many others.

The atmosphere was brimmed with lots of fun when staff were taken through Kizomba drills by some professional instructors.

Staff of the bank were divided into two broad teams to make the games more competitive. Some of the fun games included table tennis, football, volley ball and other board games.

Addressing the staff before the games, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Ghana, Mr Isong Udom showed a lot of appreciation to staff and encouraged them to continue the hard work and ensure to keep body and mind fit. “you are the UBA’s most valuable asset, that why we taken our time to ensure your work and stay healthy” he said.

Pill Pharmaceuticals also advised staff to inculcate good eating habit, regular workout and get enough rest to improve their health.

The Bank also used the opportunity to honour some of its hardworking staff by presenting deserving staff with various prizes. The fun games were simultaneously organised in all regions of the country where UBA operates and across all the subsidiaries of United Bank for Africa Plc.
