UEW will know no peace over Afful-Broni, Avoke rift – Lecturer warns

There will be no relative peace on the campus of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) if the two rivals; Professor Anthony Afful-Broni and Professor Mawutor Avoke continue to behave the way they are doing, according to a lecturer with Kumasi Technical University (KTU), Mr. Collins Kankam Kwarteng.

“If they don’t change and hold to their posture of gossiping and backbiting, the confusion will continue and students and staff will see no relative peace”, the lecturer anticipates when he spoke on Kumasi-based Otec FM during panel discussion monitored my MyNewsGh.com.

Tensions are currently high at the campus of the University of Education Winneba after the sacked Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Mawutor Avoke stormed the campus to take over his position following a court ruling

The seeming tension is far from over as a Senior Staff of UEW sued the university and its current Vice-Chancellor, Anthony Afful-Broni.

Speaking to the development, Mr. Collins Kankam Kwarteng, a Marketing Lecturer with KTU laid the blame on the government for the recent bloody situation on UEW campus between supporters of the current Vice-Chancellor, Anthony Afful-Broni and sacked Vice- Chancellor, Professor Mawutor Avoke, who is seeking to go back to office after the Court ruling.

“If the government does not constitute the University Council Board to check matters, this type of chaotic situation will not end today or tomorrow”, the KTU Lecturer told host of ‘Nyansapo’ show Captain Koda. ‘

Mr. Collins Kankam Kwarteng therefore suggested, the two rivals; Vice-Chancellor, Anthony Afful-Broni and sacked Vice- Chancellor of Professor Mawutor Avoke be barred from holding any position in the University to ensure everlasting peace.
