Egypt's assistant coach Diaa El-Sayed has admitted to the difficulty of overturning a five-goal deficit against Ghana in next month's World Cup playoff, but says the players will only need to restore their pride after suffering a humiliating 6-1 loss in the first leg.
The Pharaohs were outclassed in a night to forget in Kumasi, almost shattering their dream of reaching the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
"We are looking to restore pride in the second leg," El-Sayed, the assistant of American boss Bob Bradley, said in a television interview on Wednesday.
"We cannot ask the players to score five goals in the second leg. We asked them to play football and restore pride after the humiliating defeat," he added. Egypt host the Black Stars on 19 November at the army-owned Air Defence Stadium in Cairo. Up to 30,000 supporters will be allowed to attend the match.
