Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority Leader in Parliament has pledged that the entire Minority caucus in parliament will combine efforts to ensure the Akufo-Addo administration is kept in check.

According to him, the new government was already failing to deliver on some of the promises it made during its campaign period, hence supporters of the main opposition party should work together to ensure that the government is 'kept on their toes.'

Mr. Iddrisu was speaking at the 25th anniversary rally of the National Democratic Congress held in Ashaiman, when he said, "Let me assure you that, your 106 Members of Parliament will live to the task to keep the NPP accountable and to make Parliament strong and more responsible.

Continue to support them in your homes. We will not disappoint you. Just six months ago, Nana Addo and Bawumia bastardized the NDC and said borrowing was wrong. Today they have started borrowing and tomorrow, they will borrow." According to a Citi FM report, the Minority Leader also said that the minority was awaiting the government representatives to place before parliament a petition to seek financial assistance from elsewhere.

He said that if this happened, they (the Minority) would remind the new government of their initial thoughts on borrowing some months ago.

Meanwhile, the former Vice-President from the previous administration, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has demanded the new government deliver on the '170 promises' that were made during their 2016 campaign period.

He urged Ghanaians to keep a watchful eye on the Akufo-Addo administration's policies and projects.
