Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu claims the Black Stars would've performed better than some of the countries representing Africa at the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
After making three successive appearances between 2006 and 2014, the four-time African champions failed to qualify for the tournament.
Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia have been eliminated from the ongoing Mundial after only two games in the group stage.
“I'm very sure that Ghana would've done better than some of the African countries. That's the truth, however, I believe a country like Egypt deserved the qualification to the World Cup also," Badu told Ghanaweb TV.
"This is because they defeated Ghana at home and drew away in the reverse fixture and that means that the team was in great shape.
"Unfortunately, they couldn't get the same form at the world stage. Ghana made some mistakes during the qualifiers and they took advantage of it to qualify," he added.
Badu also admitted that playing at the Fifa World Cup is one of the greatest things any footballer would dream of in his career.
"Playing in the World Cup is a plus for any player, his family and career," he said.
"Therefore, watching them on television this year is always difficult but we can't do anything about it now so we just have to stay focused and come back stronger next time," he added.
Badu has made 76 appearances for Ghana, scoring 11 goals.
