Former Ghana football star, Nii Odartey Lamptey has advised Black Stars midfielder, Thomas Teye Partey not to make a move to either the English Premier League or the Italian Serie A.

Partey's stellar performance for the Los Rojiblancos over the years and against Liverpool in both legs of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League has made him a top transfer target for Manchester United, Arsenal and some Italian clubs in the coming winter transfer window.

Though many Ghanaians will be happy to see their star man in the English Premier League, Nii Odartey Lamptey who has joined the conversation has advised the player to stay put in Spain and not make such a move.

According to Odartey who at a point in his career played for Aston Villa FC, the English and Italian league will not suit the playing style of Thomas Partey hence the need for him to avoid a move to such countries.

In an interview with Elmina based Ahomka FM, Odartey stated that Partey can still make money from the Spanish League if the desire to move form Atletico is financially motivated.

"Offers are coming in for Partey but I'm telling you today, if he doesn't make the right decision and chose the right club and country, he will go off."

"Decision making can spoil your career as a footballer because it happened to me during my playing days. it was wrong for me to choose Aston Villa over the French team that came calling so I will use my story to advise him to stay in Spain."

"His playing style does not fit that of England and Spain. He can decide to leave Atletico and join other Spanish clubs but not either England or Italy." "I know he has to consider the financial package involved in any deal but if he wants his career to keep flourishing, then he should not make a move away from Spain because he can equally make money at Atletico" he added.
