My question to these inbred faction of Ghanaians is, What Could The President of Ghana John Mahama ever do to satisfy them beyond resigning and handing over power to them on a silver platter?
I have a lot of issues with just about every administration that has governed Ghana including this current administration, but to think that I can ignorantly oppose any and everything they do is not human and it is not intelligent. Unfortunately, the NPP which is synonymous to Ashanti/Akyem Klans Party is ricked with such elements.

I hate politics, and I had African politicians. NPP is the quintessential twisted and dysfunctional, bush and illiterate elite in African society, that makes foreigners wonder if we are also God's Children.
If you think I am going to act like a Saint or Jesus Christ and turn the other ear you bloody well could kiss...How I feel about NPP and its Ashanti/Akyem faction is FACT!!!

HOWEVER, THE MORE I WATCH MAHAMA, THE MORE I AM CONVINCED HE DOESN'T REALLY HAVE THE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES NEEDED TO ADDRESS GHANA'S PROBLEMS AND IS JUST THE USUAL "LOCAL" GHANA POLITICIAN WITH PRETENSIONS TO BE WORDLY. HE IS JUST LACKADAISICAL, THINKS HIS ROLE IS JUST TO MAKE SPEECHES, HAS NO ENERGY - NOT A JUMP IN THE GUTTER TO CLEAN GALVANIZING AND INSPIRING LEADER.
YOU LOOK AT HIS APPOINTMENTS AND YOU ASK YOURSELF DOES MAHAMA REALLY UNDERSTAND "WHAT TIME IT IS" IN TERMS OF OUR RELATIVE UNDER-DEVELOPMENT, HOW FAR BACK WE ARE AND THE NEED TO APPOINT COMPETENT, CAN-DO, GO-GETTERS TO SELECTED MINISTRIES AND POSITIONS - JUST SAME OLD POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS, NOT ANY TRANSFORMATIONAL APPOINTMENTS, JUST SOME ILL-EDUCATED, UN-EXPOSED MPs ETC.
WHERE ARE THIS GUY'S PRIORITIES?? IS IT JUST TO BE LOOKING COOL AS PRESIDENT WITH HIS STUPID DARK GLASSES??/
WHEREFROM PAYING $600,000 - $2M FOR A JUNKET FOR 200 PEOPLE TO GO AND PRAY IN ISRAEL???? WHAT ABOUT YOU MAHAMA SAYING OH! THIS MONEY CAN SEED A BIO-MASS POWER PROJECT FOR A COMMUNITY SOMEWHERE IN GREATER ACCRA, BUY EQUIPMENT TO SOLVE WATER PROBLEM SOMEWHERE, BUILD A CLUSTER OF SCHOOLS, ETC.

Katakyie, I have been critical of NDC and its governments ever since I became an "apostle" of Ghanaweb in August 2010, when I posted my first article. The difference is that I have been objective so you may not have realised that. You prefer to be anti or NDC and pro NPP or one-sided. I am objective to both though readers accuse of being both pro and anti to NDC and NPP. That is an indication to me that I am doing some things right. However, I must admit that I am not in a position to do realistic comparative analysis between NDC and NPP. This is because I was not following Ghanaian politics during the Kufuor years. In fact, I only found Ghanaweb and the Ghanaian internet radio stations by accident in late 2008
Have you moved from Hull to London or this is another Katakyie? Have a nice evening.

Good Friday and Easter are fast approaching. Is the President going to tell Ghanaians to make a trip to Palestine to celebrate the crucifiction of Christ and Palestinians by Israelis and the Resurrection of Jesus in Israel or Syria?
Is this President thinking about the people of Ghana that do not have good drinking water?
Is the President thinking about how Ghanaians are struggling to get their daily bread?
What is this secrecy nonsense of a "private sponsor"? Who is the person? Why is the identity of the sponsor not made public to Ghanaians?
Does the President think Ghanaians are FOOLS?
What is the pilgrim to Israel going to do for Ghanaians?

This trip will eventually take place as was stated on Joy News by pastor Duncan Dick head Williams. This is where Ghana finds itself. It is going to be a bumpy ride. Mahama doesn't get it and that is why he had the hutzspa to meet with those pastors and gave that poor performance on the funding of the trip yesterday.

Money, Women and Obligated Religion when they take the better part of you your personality is crushed. Kwame Nkrumah.
John Mahama must be careful with the Levis. We wrote the other day that the Levis are instruments of neocolonialism and will always promote the interest of the neocolonialist. We have seen how the Levis raise the ruse of not been paid by the National Health Insurance Scheme last week and just as that ruse was being brought down they raise the issue of the government's sponsorship of a pilgrimage to Israel.
The ruse of the none-payment to the Churches hospitals of NHIS members' attendance to hospital, drugs and other consumables brought to the fore the fallacy of the Churches that they have been doing humanitarian work. We stated some time ago that even education was sold to Ghanaians by the churches as they continue to do today.
President John Dramani Mahama be careful because obligated religion will bring about your down fall. Never trust the Levies even when they offer you a white calico.

The President says he is a Christian, and presumably his God only inhabits the divided city of Jerusalem or is He in Bethlehem? So pastors have to go there before his God can hear their intercessory prayers?
This is the problem with the Executive Presidential system. Wealthy people just throw out money to elect nincompoops, just look at the number of idiots the Republicans foisted on America in the 20th century.

Great piece. As an ardent supporter of the president and having stood in a queue in the blistering sun to cast my vote for him, i was extremely crestfallen when the president gave credence to the story of the government's involvement in the pastor's trip to Israel. After the botched name change of the seat of government and this latest revelation coming on the heels of each other, i wondered whether those of us who voted for Mahama wouldn't be disppointed sooner. It's knaive for the president to think that he can please all ghanaians as has been evidenced in his recent actions in the jubilee-flagstaff affair and the pastor's debacle. If only he could leave the cosy walls of the flagstaff house to interact with the people of Sukua, Peprabebida, Gambia no 2, Yagiba... he would've surely had his eye on the ball. As things stand now, he's slowly losing touch with the very people who put him in the cosy office in the first place. Very, very sad, euh!

I do not for one moment think that the president is "insulting Ghanaians". I have condemned wholly this so-called pilgrimage and totally disagree with the president's intentions on the matter which I believe to be genuine but sadly misplaced. But I do not support the notion that somehow the president is "insulting Ghanaians" as you suggest.
This is a rare disagreement between you and I, and I also think that whoever is sponsoring the trip, the small sums involved should not at all factor in our arguments about solving current economic and other crises the country is facing. I just happen to believe that such a religious trip is out of place, and like you, ?I believe it serves no real national purpose and therefore is ill-judged on the part of the president. I want to believe that certain NDC-leaning pastors have had a hand in persuading him to go along with this crass project.
I like you, am also curious as to the role of the sports minister in this matter when it should be dealt with someone dealing with Cultural Issues. I know for a fact that my old school mate "Bishop" Korankye Ankrah is a strong NDC supporting pastor, and have detested some of his blatant canvassing for the latter on TV in the past. He is closely related to the Sports minister, Afriyie Ankrah, and i wonder if there is a link between these and the government's involvement (although the minister has publicly denied any such influence). I want to know which pastors are behind this trip, how it all came about and why the government was minded to support it in any way.
I can understand the government providing consular assistance where necessary for any religious trip on a massive scale e.g. the Hajj which I notice some ignorant and foolish church leaders e.g. Rev. Prof. Martey are calling for government to "stop sponsoring". For the record, government DOES NOT sponsor the Hajj. Ask any Ghanaian Muslin with experience of this pilgrimage and you will find that government provides assistance and management of a process which over the decades became a major corrupt and big money making event for a small mafia (to think of a religious issue being hijacked). The government in the early to mid 1990s got involved as scores of people sometimes paid for their tripos, got stranded at the Kotoka International airport for weeks on end, whilst the mafia had taken and were enjoying their booty.
I just thought I should express my views on this matter as I am concerned that this whole saga could be blown out of all proportion and turn into an issue when it should not have been in the first place.
