  atta mills was the president so he lacked nothing and yet the fool chose to be the worst hypocrite in history as he misused the name of God from Ghana to Nigeria,whilst conspiring with criminals to use completely false and bogus contracts to dupe the poor people of Ghana. and worse still, this atta mills unleashed people on jj rawlings for condemning the massive corruption in ndc...as if that was not enough for the wicked atta mills, he even further sacked martin amidu who was willing to retrieve such stolen monies for the poor people of ghana......what manner of stupidity is this at all because all that while this stupid man was praying to God for a miraculous healing to his ailing condition.and things got so bad that even john tia, was defending woyome when he appeared before the public acc comm of parliament...this john tia totally disregarded the fact that the north is the poorest in ghana and such monies could be used to help develop the north.....atta mills was a real disaster to ghana and must be totally forgotten as far as history is concerned.

  From Rawlings' era to Mahama's era, you could only mention one honest politician- Amidu- and yet, here you are condemning those who have been duped not once but many times by their own family members and friends for refusing to heed to your advice.
  
  Would you go and take any exams if probability of passing that exams is 50%? You talked about your wife in the last piece, would you have married her if probability of her cheating on you was 25% (75%- honest)? So it is not about SOME are honest or not, it is about their experience and what they have seen or heard. My friend, people have spent all their lives to come up with their monies. Some can't even work again because they do not have any strength to do so. And they are thinking of making good use of their last money without losing it. Let them choose whatever way they deem fit and your holier-than-thou advice.
  
  Why are you bent on trying to ask them to send money back while they have their families here? Don't you think they know what is best for them? Do you know whether or not they still have any immediate family members there? What about if they have their kids here? Don't you think they should probably save for their kids' education here? What is the point of building mansions for such persons back home where they can't even spend a month in that mansion? Or, why should they set up a business when they can set up a better business they can have access to daily? Seriously, you have a problem. If anyone had decided to do something at ALL COST, they would find a better way to do and not some advice coming an ego person like you.

  I bought a plot which was originally sold by the Tema Development Corporation from a mate of mine’s mother 12 years ago. I was assured and encouraged that there will be no problem when the time comes for me to develop it as she was no stranger. Later on this year, when I have the time, I will be going to Ghana to do battle with this woman over this plot, a woman I considered decent at the time and is generally considered to be wealthy. Her son , my mate unfortunately now deceased rendered her childless. It was a very massive personal loss to me at the time and still saddens me. I was even scheduled to go and see a hip hop concert with him and others days before he died so young in his early twenties. To think twelve years down the line his mother will stick the knife in out of greed when she doesn’t even have a blood child to inherit the assets she has already accumulated beggar’s belief. How can one have any hope that there is a decent Ghanaian. And this is only my story, my sister has another which involved her pal’s mother sticking the knife in over a development. My mum also has another, and I can go on and on. Very sad but true!

  Good to see that you are using "sticking the knife" here. Yes, using a knife to stick into your heart. I gave all those statistics for a reason, because when it comes to things pertaining your heart, you do not take chances that easily. The bible tells us that where your treasure( money) is, there your heart will be also. Many people, including this writer does not believe that.
  
  When you have worked tirelessly and send money home to do a project, you wake up every morning thinking about it. In essence, you whole being is consumed with that project because your treasure or heart is in that project. And when the caretaker of that project deceive you or dupe you, it is like sticking a knife in your heart. Literally, you have been killed, or you have become a dead wo/man walking.
  
  So it is not about anyone saying that there are no good persons in Ghana. How can we say that? But the issue is, how do you find such people or trust that person to make sure that your heart will not be "knifed" again. Or, do we have to take his word for it just because he came here to tell us that he is honest and is doing a project for someone? Hell NO.
  
  And that is why people who have been duped before or have heard numerous stories about corruption are being careful with their money or treasure or heart. And yes, the bible again admonish us by asking us "For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?" So what does this know-it-all brother wants to tell us and get angry at us when he is told that we have had bad experience?
  
  People are counting the cost before they jump into something. The fact that people are doing something or someone did it does not mean someone has to do it. I have advised people to be weary of living their lives in other peoples' dreams. They need to count the cost at all times.
  
  Let people do what it seems best to them. I know a woman who have lived in apartment for more than 20 yrs. To her, waking up to go to work and making sure that her kids go to school and helping them in their assignments was she cared. People were always advising her why don't you buy a house here, why don't you go and build a house in Ghana. Why don't you do this or that. Guess what, those kids just finished medical school and started working. They have come together to help the mom - to retire the Mom in two years, when she is 55 yrs. They want to buy her a house here and support her to take any project she decides to do in Ghana. Do you see why I get irritated when someone like this writer keeps on forcing their dreams on others.

  The idea is good.The problem is many in the diaspora have been out of the country so long
  they may have lost a lot of connections in Ghana,making it difficult to make critical bussiness decisions.

  Not everyone back home is dishonest. However, the reality is, if you live abroad and you need assistance from relatives/friends with a project or something, prepare your mind for imminent disappointment. You are likely to be taken on a financial wild goose chase until you literally abandon the project. The only times most relatives/friends come clean with you is when you promise to send them money soon. Even then, once they receive the money and spend it, honesty in subsequent transactions is not necessarily guaranteed. If only they knew what people living abroad go through daily before earning their daily bread.
