President Mahama must be commended for raising the 'winner take all'issue. When Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom made it a campaign issue nobody listened. I pray parliament act on it, successfully enacting into law now that a sitting President has brought the issue into realm of public debate. There's nothing wrong with going back to a constitutional arrangement of yesteryear.

The Westminster style of parliamentary government is worse than the executive style of government.I understand the President if he is looking at a Union government style of government because of the near sabotage by the opposition and their drive to make the country ungovernable in an affront to the peoples choice.
As for Ndoum,he wants a way to come to power through the back door and that could be done if the president's quota of picking his cabinet from outside parliament is enlarged.
At least we know that the President has a tenure of two terms but in a Westminster style,a prime minister can govern indefinitely. It is possible that under that arrangement the prime minister can rule for 30 year until he is too old to govern. Parliamentary democracy under the Ghanaian system could perpetuate a tribal alliance and allegiance which would not be healthy for our democracy.
We can come out with an arrangement that could compel the president to look outside parliament in selecting his cabinet whilst still running the executive style of government and not just copy what is happening in the UK.
