My apology, Madam Okoh

And I will support it as well. Our society is not generally patriarchal like you stated in your article.

Women have played and still play major roles in our communities and it is good to recognize their efforts and progress societal view of the girl child or women.

I wonder if you know why we had and still have matrilineal inheritance in Ghana.
Long before the white man recovered the DNA and understood exactly how to settle Primogeniture or succession rights, the black man had the best option-- inheritance through the mother or sister line.

The reason is simple but clever, let your sister's son, who you know share a 100 percent gene, inherit you instead of your own assumed son, who might be a produce of an illicit affair by your wife.

I must state that society has moved on now and so we do not need that method again, but nonetheless a clever tradition. Let us move on and honour our great heroines just like the heroes.
