I used to live in two West-African countries (at different times) where the citizens said the same thing you said above, but eventually they went to war.
Keep in mind that there are bad seeds all over the world.
The writer got it wrong; the Biafran/Nigerian war killed over 3 million people!
Remember many Igbos flocking our country in 1969? I remember seeing numerous of them in my primary school class, but I was too young to "f*ck" at that time.
War can happen in Ghana, as long as we have bad seeds among us!!!
I've closed my docket.

First of all Akan implies every person of African origin in other words we are the primeval earthling (Roots, Luci etc). Nkrumah tried to re-engineer this into the 'YOUNG PIONEER MOVEMENT' to titillate an African personality concept to mollify the indignities of the 'uncivilization of the savage' of bygone years.
We were here before even Caine and Abel. Did Caine not free to the land of fugitiveness where he met his wife and married? To use Akan as a wedge to disenfranchise others only illustrate the reaction or an ignorant refusal to learn how to know! Thank you.
Ghana will never be hijacked by miscreants.

legacy of the pepeni and his murder of mills is nothing but sorrow, misery and poverty while he and his cronies boldly continue to loot the country. this is understandable since they are not Akans, they do not care as they know the wealth of the nation does not belong to them , its a take/steal money and run mentality that drives them. They have no solutions because they are too feeble minded and reality deep down they know its only by theft , trickery , election engineering /rigging , ideological lies and camouflage that they are there now and know it can not last . The national security is going round spreading the word they have the supreme court under control and have ensured the petition will not succeed , i guess they are able to blackmail the judges after all so there will be no justice . The national security has an interest to keep pepeni in place as there is not a single corruption act that goes on whereby they dont have a cut . they know if pepeni goes over 80% of them will be out of a job as thats the first place any true patriotic govt will clean up. we know all this will sooner or later lead to war and we are ready , long live the republic of Akan

With Ewes targeting Akans especially Ashantis there will never be peace in Ghana. Ewes are hiding behind and using Gas and non-Akans to create divisions amongst the people. What Oko Vanderpuye did recently is a typical example of what the mindset of these goons have become. How can you use our resources (gold, timber, oil, cocoa etc) to develop Accra and turn around to ask Kufour to vacate and relocate to Kumasi. The war has already started and its signs are on the walls. The seeds of divisions created by Rawlings and his comrades have germinated and it will take only divine intervention to remove its scar on the mindset of the people.
People should rather tackle the root cause of the problem and not lambast outspoken guys such as Kennnedy Agyapong who would like to call spade a spade. We are sick and tired of all these empty rantings!

The comparison of Nigeria/Biafra situation to Ghana falls flat. There are no Ibo/Northern type animosities in Ghana. Indeed, the "hot spots" for tension are often between the same ethnic groups. For example, the Peki and Tsito folks are all Ewes. In the North, the fights are between Northerners. The NDC is not a tribal party. The NPP is also not a tribal party per se. Its true that most Ewes tend to support the NDC while mostly Akan people the NPP. But, again no one is casting the election dispute in tribal terms.

It is not as if we don't know our problems or don't know that we have to build a better society. The greater questions are WHY(?) we don't do WHAT(?) we have to do to get there. You haven't said anything about that...

Kofi of Africa, you did very little in your write-up to suggest any viable alternative to the NPP and NDC. You just bored your readers with the history of events we already know of. Perhaps you would do yourself and many others a lot of good by explaining why the Nkrumah leadership allowed them to be lead to the slaughter house in the VALCO agreement. Instead of blaming the Eisenhower-led US government why don’t you blame it on the circumstances that we created in Ghana’s socio-economic landscape that lead to bending over to accept such a killer agreement? You must also talk about Nkrumah’s foreign policy or the posture as it were; you don’t wine and dine with the East, in a cold war era and run to the West for financial aid and technology.
That said, don’t insult our intelligence by lamely portraying that the NPP is agitating for an Akan uprising against other ethnic groups in Ghana; it is an unintelligent farce and an insult to all other ethnic groups in the NPP as well as all Ghanaians who are engaged in inter-marriages.
Finally NDC or NPP, Ghanaians would move on and there would be no war in Ghana!

Kwame,
I have written many social, cultural, political and economic articles about varied subjects. In them, I suggest relevant alternatives to existing practices or behaviour.
Dr. Nkrumah was right, diplomatically, to encourage the US, Italy and UK to support Ghana (Ghana's contribution was 30%) to fund the Akosombo and Valco projects. His plan was to progressively change and attune the agreement to Ghana's economic development. Unfortunately he was ousted before he could implement his 7-Year Development Programme which would have gained Ghana the science and technology industrial base for our modernisation.
In time I will address aspects of what I believe it must take Ghana to develop and modernise. Please search my past articles in the 'Opinions' and 'Features' posts - and on Facebook. They address parts of what you point out.
As for what you say about NPP belligerence, I ask you to reread Ghanaweb, Modernghana and Ghanaian media for evidence. I was not the one who originated: 'All die be die'; 'Yen Akanfo), etc.' I am Fantse-speaking, but I dislike the consistent separatist narratives of some Akans, mostly in the NPP (there are some of these idiots also in the NDC). If you've not been caught up in a civil war, or seen images of it, please don't under-estimate its devastation.
Regards.

I criticise Okoampa Pee Aach Dee, not quite because he misspells a word or two. We writers (who write a lot) are allowed reprieve for the occasional 'printer's devil'. In paragraph 9, end of line 2, 'belligerents' is spelt correctly. This indicates the mistake in the title is a 'printer's devil'.
I critise him for the exact reasons I have engaged throughout my article. His many thesaurus-aided synonymes are pompous, outlandish and inconsistent with good grammatical English. He also offers no solution to Ghana's many problems. Rather, he intensifies them.
Lastly, "Kofi of Africa" is what is called, 'pen name' or 'pseudonym'. Any reasonable thinker will know it has nothing to do with cowardice! Why?, you are also called, 'Grammar Police'. Does it logically follow you argue reasonably? All it shows is you are infantile in being able to pick out a missing 'l' in belligerents,' but blatantly contradict yourself in didactic argument of comparative pseudonymes!
