My brothers and sisters,we have to be patient. The wage bill is so high that government is having problems paying our workers. There nothing our bro can do now. The previous government awarded so many contracts that could take us so many years to execute. You could also see that road contractors have not been paid for so long. Carefully studying the situation one can confidently say that the election petition also affected us badly, for where I find mysel in tdi, I have seen from first hand that most of the investors packed bag an baggage and left the country and are only coming back just a few days ago. He is only being a good brother for not complaining too much becourse is bro is at helm of the state.Be patient. Mind all northerners see him as their kind so stop bringing him as a Sissala man

Ghana Supreme Court declares Fast Track Courts illegal
Accra- Ghana (PANA) -- Ghana's Supreme Court on Monday declared the Fast Track Court unconstitutional, virtually putting on hold the trial of several former ministers and government officials for various offences. The Court, by a 5-4 majority, upheld a motion brought before it by Tsatsu Tsikata, former chief executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), challenging the constitutionality of the Fast Track Court (FTC). Chief Justice Edward Kwame Wiredu dissented along with Justices George Acquah, William Atuguba and Sophia A. B. Akuffo.

You think the president appointed him because of Sisala roads?

Let the people assess him and punish him with their votes. Remember he is not appointed a minister to develop only sissala land or the north for that matter. Please, if you have a genuine case or a personal score with him, use the appropriate channel. How can piece for a whole group be so poor in in quality? Come again my brother!

Batong,
Your article is rather shallow and self seeking. You have made so many unfounded allegations against the minister. As someone has already said, Alhaji Amidu was not appointed for Sissala's alone but for the whole country. Nevertheless are you aware that in June, July and August the minister toured the whole region of Upper West exposing to Ghanaians the problems of the region. As far as the roads of the region were concerned, the media expose comprehensively to Ghanaians what problems were there. We knew roads that have been awarded on contract, why contractors were not working and when they would work and complete their projects. I think you have a personal problem with Alhaji Amidu and it should be clear to you that this is not a good approach in dealing with your personal problems with the man. please go to your elders and learn. In any case you said the man was arrogant yet when he parked his vehicle and the youth approched him to remove the vehilcle, he willingly did. An arrogant man would have made the whole world heard about that issue while showing the power he wields. It therefore means that your article is not correct. Also, anytime have something sensible to write, ask that your stuff be edited before you publish. Has Alhaji Amidu taken your girlfriend as well?Shame on you

When the Electoral commissioner admits to Bawumia's definition of over-voting, what more evidence do we need?
You and I will not be there in 2016 but it should be possible to rely on the electoral paperwork to come to a view on the validity of the election.
My view is that Justice Ansah got it spot on by giving probative value to the pink sheets.

Kofi,
You have not been fair to Justice Ansah by your partial quotations. This is what he wrote:
"I hold in my concluding comments on this ground, that the failure to sign the pink sheet was a monumental irregularity unmitigated by any circumstances. I am further fortified in this view by the observation that in establishing the duty for presiding officers to sign pink sheets before proceeding to declare the results of the polls at the polling station, Article 49 (3) of the Constitution does not merely constitute a mandatory constitutional duty on presiding officers to do so prior to announcing the election results, but it is also one of the entrenched provisions of the Constitution. In the face of the full force of this entrenched constitutional requirement, I am unable to make any exception to save the pink sheets impugned by the omission of the presiding officers on the basis of the explanations offered by the respondents."
Dr Afari-Djan himself admitted under oath that non-signing of the pink sheets WAS an irregularity. That is an entrenched position in the Constitution which not even Parliament can change.
Justice Ansah applied the spirit and letter of the Constitution of Ghana, while the others danced around it to try and justify an untenable position. If they had been signed, there would have been nothing to crow about. By not signing, those people broke a major provision of the Supreme law of Ghana, and there was not way round it!
We need to begin demand that people do the right thing in Ghana.
