A little boy wakes up three nights in a row when he hears a thumping sound coming from his parents' bedroom. Finally, one morning he goes to his mom and says, "Mommy, every night I hear you and daddy making noise and when I look in you're bouncing up and down on him."
His mom is taken by surprise and says. "Oh... well I'm bouncing on his stomach because he's fat and that makes him thin again."
The boy says, "That won't work."
His mom says, "Why?"
The boy replies. "Because the lady next door comes by after you leave each day and blows him back up!"

Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe, you remind me of my days in the secondary school when we thought that the use of too many big words showed that we could speak and write good English. In the end, we did not do effective communication because we ended up speaking to ourselves most of the time as our messages did not have the desired impact on our targeted audience. I think Dr. O-Ahoofe's write-ups on Ghanaweb fall into this category of failed attempts to engage in effective communication. If the average reader has to have a dictionary with him to constantly refer to in order to understand what you are trying to say, then I am afraid you are a failure as far as effective communication is concerned, Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe!

MOST ghanaweb readers are not interested in your "petty" quarrels and your desperate effort to show that you are better than everybody else in Ghana, indeed, in the world.
I have told you to write your own blog and put whatever you like there so those who are interested can go read it there. ghanaweb is for all of us, not you alone. Do not try to hijack it for your private ends.
Today is New Year's Day and many people will be soberly reflecting over the past year and their entire existence and resolving to do worthy things this new and coming years. It jangles our nerves to come here on this blessed day to read such stuff by you so full of vile and recriminations.

The Internet is a dangerous instrument -- in the hands of the wrong people. This is because there are TROLLS -- usually uncertified obsessives, as they are called by the medical profession --
who can focus on an individual and smear him or her at every opportunity.
Normally, ethical editors or moderators of websites look out for signs that a TROLL is at work by asking themselves: why is this guy being attacked? Have we published any piece by the attacked person that might have caused this guy to attack him in turn? If we have not published any such thing, why should we lend our site to the attacker to launch an unprovoked attack on a person who has not done him any wrong?
STALKING is in fact now considered a CRIME and website operators take great care to warn users not to abuse the privilege they have of posting on the sites, ti launch personal attacks for reasons best known to themselves.
I do not know where Okoampa got the impression from that Cameron Duodu wants to "mash" his balls! Has Cameron Duodu got time for this, what with all the serious issues he usually writes about? How would an äging"(according to Ahoofe) man
get time to read Ahoofe's vast output?
In his latest outburst against an innocent man who never attacks individuals but their principles,Ahoofe makes very serious allegations about why Mr Duodu was not able to attend his own sister's funeral. This is so below the belt that I ask the Ghanaweb editors: did it occur to you that Ahoofe could not possibly know what kept Mr Duodu away?
I urge them to take this stupid article off the web. And to urge them to start the New Year with a resolution not to become the unwitting tool of Internet trolls and stalkers. It is disgraceful for Ghanaweb to be so irresponsible. Do the editors want Ahoofe to parade before them with the Emperor's clothes on him before they re

They also like articles that are controversial and will pull visitors to the site. It is because ghanaweb posts ANYTHING that is why Okoampa continues to write all manner of articles to the site ON A DAILY BASIS. He can't do that on a site that monitors what it posts.
If whatever Duodu wrote that so displeased Okoampa was NOT posted on ghanaweb, then there will be no reason why ghanaweb should post a response to that article. But ghanaweb does not care what it posts.
It is up to those who send articles to ghanaweb to control themselves and observe a certain modicum of human decorum. But Okoampa knows no shame as long as he is blowing his own horns. He can do it only on ghanaweb.
This attack on Duodu is not only unnecessary, it does NOT concern the rest of us in any way at all. If the man didn't attend his sister's funeral, what has that got to do with the rest of us on ghanaweb?

Once a while, lots of pressures are put on ghanaweb to pull off some patently libelous articles and they do so. An example is one of those Alhaji articles about the Asantehene last year. Okoampa's piece is not in that category. It's just useless and does not concern the rest of us.

Kwame,
This is a very badly written piece. Your uncle is a better communicator in the English language than you ever will be. You may have better formal education but he is more erudite even if I don't always agree with him.
Your literal interpretation of Prof Kofi Abrefa Busia's and Houphet Boingy's risibly lame policy of Dialogue, authored in collusion with the apartheid regime and its supporters, shows how naive your are. Jim Crow laws and segregation did not come to an end through a policy of 'Dialogue' with the South. Systematic discrimination against Irish Catholics in Ulster did not end because of 'dialogue' with Westminster. And those were nowhere near as violent and institutionally sanctioned barbarity as apartheid.
Remember, Busia's policy of Dialogue even railed against any form of sanctions including economic and sports boycotts which we know helped bring apartheid to its knees. It was South Africa's continued isolation and years of trade sanctions, championed by the 'Show Boy', that eventually led to the capitulation of the white supremacist regime.
Victor Owusu's opposition to that policy was right. Why else do you think he lost his job as foreign minister? He could not defend that policy of appeasement and insisted Ghana's policy had not changed until he was demoted.
Of course no one in his right mind thought military force alone would do the trick. But as you yourself acknowledge, with the help of the Cubans from neighbouring Angola, it made a contribution to the resistance movement and the eventual collapse of apartheid.
In the end, the struggle against apartheid was multi-pronged and military resistance was only one. The idea that a vague policy of Dialogue designed by white supremacists to divide the African opposition, played any role in the evisercation of the regime is palpable nonsense.
What ' Dialogue' does one have with ministers of the white supremacist regime who say "do you think I enjoy dining with blacks?" What self-respecting black man will have 'dialogue' with people like these? A people who raze down demonstrators with Casspirs and set wild dogs against children? Forget the Pass Laws, Group Areas Act, Bantu Education Act, The illegal Appropriation of Black lands etc etc. Are you serious? Spare us the white wash; Busia was wrong!
In the spirit of good cheer have a Happy New Year and cut out the vituperation against your uncle.

Mr Nelson,
You have aptly put Ahoofe in his place. He doesn't even know the difference between dialogue between independent African states, like Ghana and Gabon and dialogue between South Africa's white leaders and its own black leaders.
But how could a raving lunatic ever be able to understand the difference?
Look, you make the mistake Ahoofe wants you to make, in calling him Cameron Duodu's nephew. I remember that in an argument with others, in which Cameron was wrongly identified with the tribalism spewed by Ahoofe, Cameron pointed out that Ahoofe was NOT his nephew, as Ahoofe claimed in every reference to Cameron he made in his articles! I think Cameron explained that he was nit disowning Ahoofe as such but that his siblings kept asking him why they didn't know this relative of theirs. So he told Ahoofe the latter was not related either to his maternal or paternal side. And he challenegd Ahoofe to name the names that were common to their families.
That was all. Ahoofe has subjecte4d Cameron Duodu, since the, to all manner of abuse, which Duodu has steadfastly refrained from answering, despite the fact that he wields an acerbic pen himself. Thank you for calling the madman to order. It is so unfair when a cultured person is subjected to the antics of a mad dog, and out of good breeding, he can't answer back.
As someone said, thus article should be removed by Ghanaweb. It is just too demeaning. even to a site that has published some questionable stuff. No decency whatsoever? A man is mourning his dead sister and to see that someone is taking advantage of that to attack him? My, oh my!

It is only a twisted mind that can on one hand claim that Dr. Busia's dialogue policy was vindicated when SA became free after Nelson Mandela's release, and at the same time cite the Cuban troops led battle against the SA defence forces, as a very important point in the struggle against the apartheid regime. Even US Republicans realized their folly in the dialogue policy, they abandoned it over the objections of President Reagan. How can someone who claims to be the doyen of Ghana's political history be so misinformed and by extension try to spew that garbage out here on GHANAWEB?
As a "small boy" in elementary and secondary school, Cameron Duodu was my inspiration by way of educating my self in world affairs - as BBC correspondent and also as a columnist for the Daily Graphic. I must say I did not always agree with him, but he was a real class act, not to mention the fact that he was a self made man.
Okoampa-Ahoofe's problem is that any position taken or espoused by the Busia-Danquah political tradition, was/is sacrosanct and should be defended even if overtaken by historical events. That is definitely not a hallmark of an intellectual, to say the least.

Nkrumah was trading with the Apartheid government. He did not not bring any trade sanction against that regime. He even refused to see Mandela when the great man came to Ghana with his ANC.

A depiction of Ahoofe's condition is given here by an expert:
Delusion of Grandeur
By John M. Grohol, Psy.D.
Delusion of GrandeurA delusion of grandeur is the fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth. It is most often a symptom of schizophrenia, but can also be a symptom found in psychotic or bipolar disorders, as well as dementia (such as Alzheimer’s).
People with a delusion of grandeur often have the conviction of having some great but unrecognized talent or insight. They may also believe they have made some important discovery that others don’t understand or appreciate.
Less commonly, the individual may have the delusion of having a special relationship with a prominent person (such as being an adviser to the President). Or the person may believe that actually are a very prominent and important person, in which case the actual person may be regarded as an imposter.
Grandiose delusions may have religious content, such as the person believes he or she has received a special message from God or another deity.
Sometimes, in popular language, this disorder may be known as “megalomania,” but is more accurately referred to as narcissistic personality disorder if it is a core component of a person’s personality and identity. In such disorders, the person has a greatly out-of-proportion sense of their own worth and value in the world. People with this issue can also sometimes have a taste for the finer, more extravagant things in life.
Sometimes drug use or abuse can intensify or bring on episodes of delusion of grandeur. People who take phencyclidine (PCP) or amphetamines are especially at risk. People who are high and experience a delusion of grandeur may be at increased risk for physically harmful behavior. For instance, if you believe you are capable of flying after taking PCP, and try to jump off a 10-story building based upon that false belief, you may be at serious risk of death.
Example: A woman believes she has been selected by a deity for eventual elevation to divine status; she goes around blessing people.
A little boy wakes up three nights in a row when he hears a thumping sound coming from his parents' bedroom. Finally, one morning he goes to his mom and says, "Mommy, every night I hear you and daddy making noise and when I l ...
