Before the elections close the major parties will be complaining of rigging in the strongholds of the other party. They will buy time to make their case. In the end they will feign magnanimity. Then the world will declare them peace lovers. That is after they would have held the whole country hostage, discouraged investment and tour the country to confound everybody.

..which is why they are going in for the easy option, by simply throwing in someone who they don't have to market anymore than they already have done. Marketting cost money and great effort, marketting a new person is more expensive than one already known. Well from a purely economic point of view, NPP are right. But marketting a not so sucessful candidate over and over again is also problematic, what has changed about the person's past failures? The only way is to depend on the poor performance of the incumbent and an extra ordinry change of events not akin to incumbents. Well a good campaign strategy by Obama in the face of extreme economic conditions in the US, saw him defeat Romney, an unlikeable candidate who could not appeal to the broad American public beyond core and hardened Republicans. Romney carried too much baggage for comfort. Anyone thinking the economic situation in the country is enough to propel Akkuffo Addo into power should think again. Thequality and likeabilty of the incumbent across the broad spectrum of voters over weighs one dimensional economic predictions. NPP beware.

The whole election petition was very stupid.Let me make it clear here, you cannot ask the Supreme Court to overturn the official results and declare Nana Addo as president like what happened in Ivory Coast. The situation in Ivory Coast was different because the ELectoral Commissioner declared Alhassan OUttara as winner but Laurent Gbagbo refused to concede and used the Supreme Court to overturned the official declaration to his advantage.NPP went into 2008 and 2012 general elections with wrong messages, very bad organisation and ineffective strategy that is why they lost.I have always said the election petition was very stupid because NPP could have demanded a rerun when they detected some kind of irregularities. You can't say there are irregulaties so you wanted to benefit from it.This was the saddest mistake NPP did and when their lead lawyer,Phillip Addison informed them about the complications,Nana Addo could have withdrawn his petition instead of waiting for a humiliated verdict which was inevitable.I believe the petitioners were victims of their own naivety and it's not good for NPP to elect Nana Addo again because we shall go through the same high tensions again even if he wins the 2016.NPP can do better than this.Thank you.

Kofi, you got it very wrong. It was 4 million votes they were asking the court to throw away in order to disinfranchise especially those from the Volta region and the northern region and as a matter of fact, all the strong hold of the NDC, whiles protecting theirs intact. Isn´t it interesting? Selective justice at best. Unfortunately, they claimed to be legal experts. How sad! We can not wait for 2016 to teach them the bittest lesson of thier lives for taking us for granted and still are. As to what those who are very loyal to the Golden Stool would do to them, it is a matter of time. Nana is solidly behind all the nonsense they have churned out against the Asantehene. If he knows shame, he would have gone there. But being the pretender that he is and shall always be, he went there full of shame. Time will surely tell.
