While I share wholeheartedly in, the solutions prescribed for our unity for moving forward, I ythink, like most people I have interacted with, there are equally those who feel that some of the very people in your second point who you think deserve an apology were also not fair in either their comments, actions or inactions, body languagewise to the coars of the then candidate Akufo Addo's aspirations. I strongly feel he was left on his own and needlessly left to his fate. Whethr this is a peception or a reality, Afoko and his team will equally have to address this sentiment before any apology. Good Doc. But you left out the 'Y3n Akanfuor' bomb. A main ingredient that led to Nana losing the election. Ghana is made up of people called Ghanaians.

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and
spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted, "Excuse me,
can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I
don't know where I am."
The woman below replied, "You're in a hot air balloon hovering
approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees
north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."
"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist. "I am," replied the woman,
"How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is, technically
correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact
is I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything,
you've delayed my trip."
The woman below responded, "You must be in Management." "I am," replied
the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you're
going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air.
You made a promise which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people
beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same
position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault.

Here's a banter concerning Sir John, between two admirable people, that made my day yesterday:
Sir John was pretty reckless in his many verbal assaults and war chants. He even made many in the NPP blanch in horror, sometimes. Really unworthy of that legatee office. I am glad that the delegates felt it necessary to try someone else!
Don't be surprised to see Sir John become Reverend Dokita-Bishop-Cardinal-Odifo Sir OBroni John: Pastor-Catechist Plenipotentiary of the Church of Epiphany. LoL. Hope all is well. Good day and cheers.
Hahahahaha! You just made me laugh hard - a good dose of dopamine flushing my system, right now. Thanks menua Momapo and have a great day yourself!
__________
But then changing gears, how smart is it for the country to have a unique identification cards with no address on it, given Boko Haram and Abuja yesterday?
Or
Are we going to wait for some tro-tro to pull-up at Flagstaff House and blow the whole joint into smithereens before we see the need to implement such a project for accountability purposes?

Doc this is an excellent piece. No one should be allowed to circulate list of people he will work with! This makes the whole delegates system redundant if a political party exists to indulge and worship one person. By getting rid of the old executives, Nana Addo knows that there will be no coronation. Rather there will be an election and he will have to fight hard to win over the delegates in December this year.

Well spoken doc. but I am not sure why you always failed to take the bull by the horn. Somehow, you took me by suprise at the end of this piece. All the same, that message should be directed to those who think, tribalism can win elections. You know them! They are led by your own paddy, Akufo Addo and your namesake Kennedy Akyepong. As if that is not enough, Effah Dartey, an opportunist also made a similar statement to that effect. "Fire for fire" "all die be die." Recently, your so called Ashanti regional chairman was on air, threatening mayhen against the president and the whole country. Who are the enemies in Ghana politics, that the npp knows and wants to get rig of? Until you people realised and accept the simple fact that, tribalism was one of the main reasons why you lost the two previous elections, and will continue to lose it the more, no amount of names elected at that your so called congress will make any change. Tell those your disapointed and frustrated spokesmen out there who have made it their duties to attack and insults people based on their ethnicity. After all, they are doing it in the name and on behalf of the npp, if not somebody sensible would have brought them to thier retarded brians by now. That so called prof of apology,Ahoofe and Parry Akurang, aka Akadu Mensema and the rest. They think tribal bigotry is that which wins elections. The NPP is in serious problems. We saw all the obstacles they put in the way of Afoko, and we know who was behind it all. Akufo Addo and his Akyem mafias are. Why? Because of Afoko´s ethnicity. It is about time you people tell him in the face and kick him out!

Thank you, Arthur K, for this thoughtful and intellectually stimulating piece. I'm not sure, Nana Akufo-Addo, might enjoy reading this. This is a screamingly cautionary piece for Nana Akufo-Addo. The delegates have spoken. They want a change to the party's leadership. It's time to revive NPP's soul.
One thing is now surely clear: the delegates voted for the best interest of the party, and reasonably best executives to run the affairs of the NPP.
It seems Nana Akufo-Addo faces an onerous challenge even if he wins the party's leadership contest. He's not going to have things his own way. He's short of his usual "allies" who can float his ideas and stake out on his behalf.
Can the old adapt and transform himself, or is something new about to emerge?

The best thing that will happen to NPP is when Akufo loses in a free and very fair primaries. That will fully complete the rehabilation of the party's leadership, bring in new ideas and personalities - people the party can really rally around. If Akufo-Addo wins the primaries, the party will support him for the presidential votes but some will do it half-heartedly. This will not be good. Moreover Akufo-Addo will find it more difficult to reach out to people who are not members of NPP but who will vote come 2016.
Personally, I like neither NPP nor NDC. I just don't want one party and one set of people to be ruling us too long.
