In its season and while it lasts, football is the quintessential sporting medium that succeeds in bringing millions of ghanaians together for our common good. Suddenly the animosity and hard feelings that characterize our relationship with each other disappear and we're united and become "our brother's keeper". The reason why our success is limited to the football stadium and cannot be replicated on the political and economic arena is the lack of political will on the part of the political leadership. If we can invite a half ghanaian who was born and raised in Europe, has never set foot in Ghana and plies his football profession in Europe to come over and help fix a problem in our national football team why, can't we also invite others who are half ghanaians or ghanaians with dual citizenships living in the diaspora but well qualified in their fields of endeavor to come over and help fix some of the problems we're incapable of solving on our own?
The politicians know it's what it's as a result of a provision in the 1992 Fourth Republican constitution but for their own selfish reasons they refuse to make recommendations for the necessary amendments to be made. This constitution was drafted by a constituent assembly, majority of whom were handpicked by Rawlings for his personal convenience. After 22 years of experimentation the time is long due for amendments that will reflect the sovereign will of the people. We can only be described as fools when we're surrounded by many waters but always thirsty.

In any nation where the rule of is paramount, this Afriyie Ankrah will be probed and he will not escape a jail term. He milked Ghana with the world cup.

Great thought, as the brothers yesterday showed thier love fopr Ghana,an example the politicians should adore, they play their trade in foreign countries and try to give ghanaians like any nation some stress relieve, but sometimes the kinda of inslut they and the caoch receive is so bad, while the ministers palimentrays enjoy on the peoples money while no developemen t.still you have a nation capital like Accra still havin water crisis while many villages are sufferin with no water hospitals, like how some brazilians are compilaining about the money spend on the world so is many enjoyin from this ghanian mission in brazil only for them selfs, and many well wish ghanains abroad are lready with two mind to want to used the system that is still making as slave our own kind just as it was done over us 57 years ago and still workin.some can look at the game just as physical play but is more to learn from this event.for 11 set of different mind try to uplift the positive joy of all its people,is a great example fopr our leaders and well wishers for Ghana.for as we write and speak foreign language we are still been watch and not yet free, only almighty mercy and blessin is with us above all.so we should continue to be greatful.blessd Ghana.

The truth be told and digging a little deeper from the surface one can recall club level incidents which point to the use of club sports in Ghana as substitute for the display of supposed tribal superiority. At the height of last club season one of the many fans in Ghana wrote to list the tribes of the players of the then Asante Kotoko not as a tribute but to explain how kotoko management and fans through ages did prefer to field only Ashantis. Ghana will come to know true peace and experience real development when all the political party leaders, clan chiefs, scholars of the Ghana-type who fan the flames of tribal superiority even as they hide in the Diaspora are dead and gone and Ghana has had a generation of independent thinkers.

The only thing that brings Ghanaians together as one nation is soccer and for someone like a whole deputy minister of Sports Yaminn to say that majority of those who the government will sponsor to the world cup as supporters will be NDC foot soldiers since they helped the party into power is uncalled for. His excuse that since NPP did the same thing does not make sense. If NDC thought NPP did the wrong thing that was the reason why the government was given to them, why repeat the same thing that NPP did? I think NDC should separate soccer from politics and the nation will move forward because Black Stars belongs to all of us as Ghanaians and not NDC.
