Please help me get some figures since you seem to have more credible information about past events. It has to do with how much money Ghana had when Nkrumah became Prime Minister, and how much was available when he became president.
How much was the average revenue(export) to country and how much was spent on import i.e. between 1951-1966)? Where can I get this info?
Thank you.

KORSIVI MAWUSI,
For some of us, this is probably the first time we've read a comment by ADJOA WANGARA to which we can consider in good faith and humility. And you are right, in our opinion: Man is a work in progress.
ITEM: Clearly, the balance for Man, and all of us, is to see how best we can balance both, picking battles we can win even though they may be hard fought, but not tethering our dreams (What We Can Be) to the comforts and tranquility of the known.
Thanks, ADJOA WANGARA!

NTRA SAKYI,
You must know a lot about the author to write all that you have said.
And if you do, you are not saying only people collecting taxpayer money by the month are the only people doing something to "improve the lots of your fellow Ghanaians", are you?
Or that, only those in Ghana working for themselves, unemployed, or destitute, are the only people doing something to "improve the lots of your fellow Ghanaians", are you?
Further, you are not saying everyone should have the same role, are you?
Or, that the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah, that for more than "40 years" has suffered purposeful destruction by others worst than the "most pitiable", that those legacies have nothing to inform the current Ghanaian development quandary, are you?
Let's hear you come back to discuss, if you really care to also "improve."
Greetings!

Among the uncritical, intellectual, and depraved fatalists and inanities in the West, there is a significance to the number "13". We are not in that camp. However, if we were, we would look at this essay, the 13th in the series by Francis Kwarteng, a staunch defender of the unitary vision for Ghana (and Africa), as the position of departure from the confederate-federal Danquahistas, and their feigned, but utter contempt for non-elites (and women, of late).
In this essay, Kwarteng holds back the punches, not, try as he may, with his "measure" critiques.
Deservedly, these are not "measured critiques". They are fundamental positions that attack current Ghanaians conceptions of what a good (i.e. purposeful) life is absolutely not, when the umbilical cords to the foundations and thoughts of the foremost African Genius are severed with crude razors by a small group of Dompere-cognitive imbeciles whose avowed raison d'être is personal freedom. They "cherish" freedom even as they bask in their elite- and otherwise royal-ascribed positions of privilege in a sea of largely illiterate masses who never had the benefit to see the true nature of the Ngugi wa Thiong’o "colonization strategy" of religious and total community conquest - direct, then by remote control of the minds.
But, we can, and must forgive the masses. We must continue the one-to-one, community-to-community, education project. We must employ the "scientific, philosophic, cultural, and intellectual" worldviews of Dr. Nkrumah as educational foundations in a global age where science, information, and knowledge are at the forefront of human progress, economic wellbeing, and development. After all, "Any educational program which fails to furnish criteria for the judgment of social, political, economic and technical progress of the people it purports to serve has completely failed in its purpose and has become an educational fraud.”, we hear.
READ: "... Danquah’s and Busia’s blind appropriation of the Edmund Burke’s political ideology for their political ends undermined their credibility before the people and the instruments of the democratic process..."
OUR COMMENT: Anarchy is the ultimate logical end and any honest rational being will tell you that, if you ask and really care to know. The Danquah’s and Busia’s wanted confederation and freedom for themselves, but strangely, not for the Brong people. Fortunately, the astute visionary in Nkrumah saw through that fundamental contradiction and ensured the creation of the Brong Ahafo Region.
Word, we say!
THEN THIS: "...Similarly, Ngugi wa Thiong’o in his work “Something Torn and New: An African Renaissance” shows a British plan, a pilot project if you will, to use missionaries to execute the colonization of Ireland and lord over it [Ireland]. Once the colonization strategy became successful the British then deployed it across Africa. In other words.."
OUR COMMENT: As we see, the Danquah’s and Busia’s never escaped those shackles, and so the sea of people were/have been left stranded in the cesspool and mud pits of religious fanaticism, Christian and Islam, unable to listen to and profit from the value of science, reason, and critical thinking.
Word, we say!
READ MORE: "...Kobina Sekyi’s play “The Blinkards” dramatizes this dilemma of psychological dislocation and intellectual confusions. Prof. Dompere extends Ahuma’s observation: “These are done without asking a simple question whether they are good for him, his offspring and fellow Africans. Unproductive imitation is developed to a fine art of imbecility.
OUR COMMENT: "(F)ine art of imbecility" indeed, all around, wasting the people's precious time.
THEN THIS: ""...Prof. Dompere adds: “It is operating in the same zone of cognitive imbecility that moved a number of Ghanaians to accuse Kwame Nkrumah’s government of shortages of milk and sardines without considering the benefits of social infrastructure such as free water supply, free education and development of free health service system which Nkrumah was putting in place to support the building of Ghana.”"
WE SAY: Measured critique of uncritical imitation?

Kwarteng and Dr Dompre, please stop repeating the only mistake Nkrumah made with a fatal consequencies for Ghana and Africa till today and try to be part of the solution. A little analysis of your article reveals a very big similarity in in character especial in the applicaton of knowledge to solve Ghana`s and Africa`s problem between you on one side and Danquah and Busia on the the other.Quoting Busia from your article " I FELT INCREASINGLY THAT THE EDUCATION I RECEIVED TAUGHT ME MORE AND MORE ABOUT EUROPE AND LESS THAN MY OWN SOCIETY. AM A WESTERNER…I WAS EDUCATED IN THE WEST. OXFORD HAD MADE ME WHAT I AM TODAY. I HAVE HAD ELEVEN YEARS OF CONTACT WITH IT AND NOW CONSIDER MY SECOND HOME ” unquote, had Busia by these words not given Nkrumah, the two of you, every Ghanaian and African the dangers in the received Western and colonial education in Ghana and Africa. Had Nkrumah accepted this fact with friends later political opponents all whom had received Education in the West (Britain) after independent and had worked together with them to do away with the self destructive part of the western and colonial education at least in Ghana would Ghana not have been a better place today even without his visions and the strong foundation he put up for Ghana and Africa. Are you not commiting the same offence of copying without checking its suitability of solving the Ghanaian or African problem something you accuse Busia and Danquah of? Is the problem of Ghana and Africa not more self destructive colonial built education system than personalities, ideologies and political part membership or affiliation?

Especially, how we are imparting Nkrumah' s conception of science education to our young ones. You omitted one of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, Naturalistic Intelligence which enables human beings to recognize, categorize and draw upon certain features of the environment.
Our science teaching must definitely include Environmental Science and Conservation studies to inculcate what Aldo Leopold call "Land Ethic", and a sense of sustainability.
