An interesting read that makes some good points about the dangers of aid from foreign countries.
So, let the aid agencies stay in their own countries, and do their work there: with their poor. marginalized, minorities, etc.
But first, let their countries police, stop, and arrest African politicians and bureaucrats from stealing from African countries (Congo, Liberia, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Sudan, etc.). Let them stop them from resources in the form on cash and wealth to those foreign countries. Let them return those resources back to those countries every year.
Same goes for foreign companies in Africa paying bribes to officials and hiding contracts signed on behalf of African countries.
Finally, we must say that Mr. Alex Perry has committed the "Fallacy of Amalgamated Africa" (FOAA)!
READ: "...Alex Perry was based in Africa as a foreign correspondent for a decade, writing for TIME and Newsweek among others.
WE SAY: It would have been great if Mr. Perry had taken a little time to tell us where on the African continent he spent a decade writing for Time and Newsweek. Amalgamated Africa was rendered asunder when Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was chased from power by countries external to Africa (US, UK, France, etc.).
So, we are thinking we have a right to say that there are actually too many ignorant people in the West who still imagine Africa is one "amalgamated" country, one jungle, with nothing but sorrow, pain, and "jumping Tarzan"!
But yes, we would love to read Mr. Perry's up-coming new book, "The Rift: a New Africa Breaks Free".

We imagine corruption by African leaders who have stolen a lot more from African countries, then sent those stolen funds and resources to Swiss banks (and other Western Banks) would be a lot more important to the people of the world than Seth Blatter and football.
