I thought you were going to make a constitutional, not a regulatory, argument as to why mistakes in filling forms should lead to disqualification of presidential candidates.
Don't you think that the disqualifications could well lead to an abridgment of the whole democratic process?
The position taken by the EC in this matter is a power grab that prepares the ground for it to decide who runs for any office in Ghana, and is the most dangerous threat yet to our democracy.
Tomorrow, it will be the turn of either the NDC or NPP presidential candidate who will be disqualified, and then what Kofi?
Be careful!

Are you suggesting that NPP and NDC should be given preferential and more favourable treatment under the same rules of the game if they rely on fraudulent and unlawful acts to submit their presidential nomination forms? Animal farm!
I have no sympathy for people who aspire for the high office of the president of the Republic and cannot complete simple nomination forms accurately. They are not fit for that office, let alone contest for it.
As I said, this is a matter for the judiciary to decide and it's not dangerous as far as the final say rests with the judiciary and not the EC.

You unfortunately have something unpleasant against Ace Ankomah. Your tone betrays you. Whiles we all agree some method should be used to clear the ' jokers' parties it is better not done by the backdoor. The reasons for the disqualifications are petty not weighty. It sounds immature.Safari Djan showed maturity about things like that. A person endorsing 2 candidatesshould be sent to court but the candidate must be given a chance to replace the supports within a certain time as the LI stipulates. The court may later find the person innocent of double dealing. It is too late for the candidate. It is trivial to deny a to disqualify eg vice president for Akua Donkor because although her both certificate clearly shows she Is 42, she mistakenly states hon the form 1998 as her birth. It immature for Charlotte Osei to display that on power point to humiliate a female candidate and chuckle. Would she do that to her sister or brother on TV if the make such trivial mistake

Who told you PPP will vote for the CPP and who said the rest might for the ndc thieves, visionless and clueless lot and do you think Ghanaians are as stupid as you in the ndc to vote for family, friends and cronies government for others to enjoy and others to suffer? You will laugh at the wrong side of your mouth. Ghanaians are wide awake and thinking of their future, they thinking of those unborn Ghanaians who are going to suffer because of somebody's stupidity, somebody who couldn't think far. Certainly having balls is an idiom, however, we all know that women lack testacles; ergo, our current EC does not have balls. The previous EC, Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan has balls; & Kofi Ata, you have to convince us how Dr. Afari-Gyan "glossed over them".
Generally you have tendered a convincing argument supporting the competence of Mrs. Charlotte Osei as our EC. Well done Mr. Ata.

As horrified as I was to hear Presidential candidates resorting to dubious means to register their candidacy, it is equally aberrant to disenfranchise these candidates in a democracy where freedom of expression is preeminent. Universal suffrage is a Constitutional imperative in our democracy and failing to accurately complete forms should not impinge on the democratic rights of these candidates, except those who resorted to fraudulent means.
I call on the EC to streamline the process for qualification, and if it can establish that a candidate is a Ghanaian by birth, that alone would suffice his/her candidacy.
