The ignorance of some people on this platform is amazing. This man is exactly right. Do you know the quality of education that will be provided for these kids? How can this free education be sustained? Have you guys taken a moment to think about that? Or we as a nation are so used to free handouts because of poverty that we are so blinded by what will sink us than help us. How are these teachers supposed to be paid, how about quality of food to help this kids learn, school uniforms.
Am not against free tuition but I have said this before, there should have been allocated free scholarships for every district and students have to work for work it. That way once these students get to high school, they will appreciate the effort it took for them to have acquired their spot and work even harder towards college. Trust me once teachers start complaining about pay cut, your kids are doomed because no teacher will give their best, and this will lead to ridiculous extra classes fees being demanded from parents. We like cheap things too much and that is why we cannot progress. I have been out of the country for so long and so I don't even know who this man is, but I do know that what he is saying is the truth. I know a lot of professionals in Europe, and the US, who have their kids schooling in Ghana. Some of these people can afford to pay tuition for 20+kids throughout their secondary education, and you don't want their kids to pay fees? What these parents want is QUALITY education. Even in Ghana, wealthy people want the same quality education for their kids. Anything cheap in life comes with consequences. The sad thing is some of you on this platform will boast of higher education. Please put your thinking caps on, and don't be blinded by politics. Its about nation and generations FIRST!
