The Minority in parliament has described the apology rendered by Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa George Ayisi Boateng over his divisive comment as wishy-washy, insincere and unacceptable.

Mr. Ayisi Boateng was summoned to the Presidency on Wednesday, November 1 as pressure mounts for his dismissal for alleging that his priority is to employ and assist members of the NPP.

Responding to the apology, Minority Spokesperson on Communications and MP for Sanerigu ABA Fuseini said the insincere apology must be disregarded.

“Someone who made such recalcitrant comments saying some Ghanaians are more Ghanaian than others and 72 hours after saying that he is called to the Flagstaff House and forced to apologize that is an insincere apology, this is one of the most insincere apologies I have ever heard, the man by his countenance is an unrepented bigot and the apology must be thrown into the dustbin, the apology is not even worth the paper it was written on, we should throw it away, no one should waste his time on such an apology”.

Meanwhile, the Dynamic Youth Movement which had also petitioned the President to fire Mr. Ayisi Boateng says the apology should not end the matter.

The Convenor, Edward Tuttor, told Starr News Mr.Ayisi Boateng should either be sacked or resign.

“We welcome the apology but it is not the ultimate…we the youth of this nation are demanding his sack or he should resign, if government has coerced him to just come and retract and apologize we are not going to accept that”.
