Supreme Court adjourns judgment of NDC, EC case inThe court is now forced to rule on the other issue which it compelled NDC to drop because somebody independently brought that other issue to court: That of the power of the EC to compile the voter register more than once.
Now for purposes of judicial economy, the Supreme Court could have ruled on this other matter without asking the NDC to drop it.
I am unable to fathom why the Court rejected NDC’s alternative pleading if it was going to accept an independent suit based on the same set of facts and then merge the two reliefs together.
Maybe the Court is attempting to correct its own error.
