The Dadieso Government Hospital in the Suaman Constituency of the Western North Region did not record any birth during the Easter festivities.

Miss Theresa Bosomtwe, Nursing Manager, disclose this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Dadieso.

She said they usually had new born babies during such occasions, but this year they had none from Good Friday to the morning of Easter Monday, when the GNA visited the facility.

She used the opportunity to advise expectant mothers to follow all lessons of antenatal clinic in order to have safe deliveries.

Miss Bosomtwe explained that women who go through caesarean section were advised to have babies after two years to ensure they were healthy enough to carry the baby.

Records at the facility indicated that such women got pregnant between six months and one year, and ended up having lots of complications during delivery, she observed.

She entreated women to visit their family planning unit as they had programmes that would help them decide the spacing and number of children they wanted to have.

Miss Bosomtwe said family planning improved the health of mothers, children and the entire family.

In addition, she said, it allowed women to invest in their careers and plan for the future.
