The Ghana Medical Association will today, Monday June 29,2015 hold an emergency meeting over their planned mass resignation.
Their meeting will be held after their scheduled appointment with the labour minister and the presidency.
The doctors gave government up to the end of June to resolve concerns over their conditions of service.
Today’s meeting will determine the next line of action ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
The doctors last week boycotted the signing of a framework to guide them in negotiating for better conditions of service.
President of the Ghana medical association Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Adusei said they will not back down on their decision until their concerns are fully addressed.
“Our decision will be dependent on the outcome of today’s meeting. Whatever they will say will determine our next line of action. All we are asking for is our conditions of service which is crucial to every employee,” he stated.
