Lapaz Community Hospital has organized a free health screening and free registration of National Health Insurance for residents in the area to mark their 15th-anniversary celebration.
Speaking to the media, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Joy Thelma Tettey, said as they celebrate the fifteen years of the hospital, they are committed to working hard to make further strides to improve health delivery of the residents in the area.
According to her, the free health screening and registration of insurance scheme were as a result of the celebration of the fifteenth anniversary having done some cleanup exercises through the principal street of Lapaz.
She indicated that about five hundred people were screened with the idea also to check their blood pressures, height, and weight so they can calculate the BMI for them to be able to know whether they are over or underweight.
The activity also included the checking of hepatitis, TB, sugar test, dental screening as they have their doctors to go through to come out with results.
Dr Thelma Tettey expressed that; patients will be given a first aid treatment with regards to the screening before they are being taken to the hospital for further treatment.
She revealed that prior to the screening they estimated about 800 people to take part in the exercise but says from what she saw they will hit over thousand, saying they are fully prepared after receiving donations from other companies.
On the registration of people onto the insurance, she was of the view that most parents most at times ignored their wards during registration and that, taking it upon their selves to register all children under twelve years and the aged.
She has, therefore, urged his people to render quality services to the people to able to get the best out of customers having to be in charge of the said hospital for the past fifteen years.
