Ntiamoah Foundation organises free surgeries for the vulnerable

The Ntiamoah Foundation, a Non- governmental Organisation, in collaboration with the Ghana Hope Foundation and the New Abirem Government Hospital has organised free surgeries for the vulnerable at Abirem in the Birim North District.

They were diagnosed on various diseases including; an acute hernia, uterine fibroid, lipoma, hydrocele and lymph nodes.

A total of 80 people benefitted from the exercise carried out by the team of medical professionals.

Briefing the media, Dr. Jacqueline Erikson, a Founding Board Member of the Ghana Hope Foundation, an American based non-governmental organisation said the five-day programme was to provide quality healthcare delivery to the people of Abirem, more especially the vulnerable in the area.

She said in close collaboration with the Newmont Akyem Mines, the organisation for the past decade had been supporting the New Abirem Government Hospital with medical equipment to aid its effective operations.

She explained that medications for patients were been monitored through an Internal Communication Systems (Internet) introduced by the foundation to enhance communication in the facility and to ensure patients were given the right medications.

Mr Robert Kwaku Appiah Asante, the Founder of the Ntiamoah Foundation pledged their continuous support in bringing development to the people of Abirem through the provision of schools, scholarships, libraries and face-lifting other health centres to befitting standards.

To encourage reading among students in the District, he noted that the foundation had started with mobile library where books and other learning materials were been taken to deprived schools in turns.

He said the foundation in its effort to promote education in the area, has awarded scholarships to over 80 students in the Junior and Senior High schools and the tertiary institutions.

Ntiamoah Foundation is a non-governmental organisation established in the year 2006 by a Ghanaian philanthropist and businessman.

The primary objective of the organisation is to provide assistance in the areas of education and health.

It operates within the Eastern Region particularly in the Birim North District.
