Annually, monthly, daily, every micro-second, someone is thinking, brooding, planning to take their lives, some over mental conditions, some over depressive tendencies.

According to a new United Nations agency report, one person dies by suicide every 40 seconds.

Suicide is a disturbing phenomena in societies all over the world and aside efforts by the World Health Organisation, health institutions and experts to help deal with the situation in various regards, the 10th of September, every year is set apart globally, to mark the World Suicide Prevention Day.

The day is earmarked to promote suicide prevention and create awareness about suicide prevention activities.

The International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) to host World Suicide Prevention Day.

Social media users, as part of a collective effort to mark the day, have taken to Twitter, among other platforms to share personal experiences with the world and to encourage anyone who might be going through the same suicidal phase.

Meanwhile, #WorldSucidePreventionDay is number #4 on Twitter trends as the world marks this day.
