Ghana’s Participation in the Africa Cup for Club Champions Hockey Competition
The 15th Men’s and the 7th Women’s Africa Cup for Club Champions Competition of the African Hockey Federation (AfHF) is scheduled to take place in Pretoria, South Africa from March 23-30 2003.
Since the inception of the men’s competition in 1988, Ghana has been represented in 13 of the 14 competitions. Exchequers will be making their 8th appearance and Ghana’s 14th in the men’s competition during the Pretoria championship.

* Ghana hosted the Competition The women’s competition commenced in 1996 and Ghana only participated for the first time in 2002 when the competition was hosted by the country. Extinguishers of Fire Service and Reformers of the Prisons Service represented the country and won Silver and Bronze respectively.
Extinguishers will thus make their second appearance when the competition pushes-off in Pretoria.
The participation of the clubs have been through the sponsorship of their institutions. These institutions have continued to finance their clubs and hockey activities in the country in the face of difficult times and thus deserve our commendation.
