Adu Asare wants persons behind mix up of his photo and strange name punished

A Deputy General Secretary contestant at the just-ended NDC congress, Kojo Adu Asare, wants persons behind his name getting missing on the ballot paper at the 9th national delegates’ congress punished.

He believes some persons are behind the unacceptable error to scuttle his chances at the Congress even though he failed to name the persons.

“In our party, we have what is expected of us as we follow the rules. If you follow through the rules and you succeed on assignment, you are good to go; if you flop, then you are punished and that is exactly what I want to be done now,” he said.

“Some persons in a group were given a task and they failed. Going for elections, we expect the electoral team to scrutinise the process before any elections for the party,” he said.

He was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Monday.

Describing waht happened as abnormal, he said he wanted those responsible for the error reprimanded for their actions even though he insists he isn’t hurt.

“It doesn’t look normal. When you served the notice of poll, everything was perfectly written on the ballot papers ]so how come they got it wrong on the ballot,” he quizzed.

The former NDC MP for Adentan believes the incident has denied the NDC his services.

“Our party has lost the opportunity of someone who has a vision and ready to bring hope to our party. I planned to do something big for the party but they have been shattered,” he said.

Background

Mr Kojo Adu Asare, a deputy General Secretary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), could not find his name on the ballot paper at the 9th national delegates’ congress.

His picture was next to Justice Yeboah who was not contesting for any position at the Congress.

The anomaly means Kojo Adu Adu Asare although a contestant only had his picture but not his name, leaving his supporters in a confused state.

He revealed that though he drew the attention of the Election Organising Committee to the anomaly, nothing was done.
