Akufo-Addo has performed beyond my expectation – Freddie Blay

The acting Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay says the Akufo-Addo government has performed far beyond his expectation.

“I’m saying with all sincerity that it’s more than what I expected. President Nana Akufo-Addo is doing very well. He’s met my expectations even beyond what I expected,” he said on Friday.

Freddie Blay who led the NPP as chairman to win power in December 2016 was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii sen.

Mr. Blay who said he sometimes attends cabinet meetings noted that the Akufo-Addo government has put in the necessary measures to fast-track the country’s development.

“I have the privilege of attending cabinet meetings…There are several policies put in place that I am aware of. I am aware that if things go on the way it is if we have peace if we don’t agitate more particularly the labour front and things go the way it is going, I’m sure that in the next few months Ghana will be an enviable place,” he added.

The NPP party in its 2016 manifesto promised to implement the free Senior High School (SHS), as well as create factories in every district in Ghana as well as dams for communities in the northern part of the country.

The party also promised to manage the Ghanaian economy properly, give every constituency one million dollars to boost development and also create employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

Although the government has been able to fulfil some of the promises, 17 months down the line, there is still a chunk more promises including the dugout wells, one-district one-factories, one million one constituencies, among others yet to materialise.
