Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, A.B.A. Fuseini, has eulogized the late Alhaji Bature Iddrisu, describing him as a person who through his many works gave a voice to the voiceless when he was alive.

According to him, the aspirations, interests and concerns of many people were made public through the selflessness of the deceased.

Honourable Fuseini said the late Chief Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper volunteered to be the mouthpiece of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when most of the party executives had ‘lost their voice’.

“He gave voice to millions of voiceless people across the country. In the days of the culture of silence, especially after 2001, when many people could not speak, many people who held positions in the NDC and they retreated to the background, Alhaji Bature offered himself”, he said.

The Minority spokesman on Communication also described the deceased as a humanist who gave a listening ear to personal problems of people, despite their political affiliations.

“He’s redeemed so many people who came to him seeking solutions to their personal problems. He did it for them without looking at who they are”, he stated.

To the MP for Sagnarigu, the late Alhaji Bature was a martyr who dedicated his life to promoting the interests of the nation.

“He stood for the interest of this nation. He put his life on the line. He was even arrested and incarcerated in BNI because of his activities for freedom. So this is a man whose life is larger than just even a political party and even the life of politics”, A.B.A Fuseini declared.

The late Alhaji Bature was the Chief Editor for the Al-Hajj newspaper and a panelist on Adom TV’s morning show, Badwam. He was admitted at the Kore-Bu Teaching Hospital after taking sudden illness before giving up the ghost last Friday, January 5, 2018.
