A brothel at Sokoban Wood village in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti region has been set ablaze by some aggrieved youth after their colleague was allegedly stabbed to death by some of the prostitutes.
The 20-year-old man name only given as Tupack was said to have been attacked by some of the prostitutes after he had allegedly patronised their service.
The situation angered some of his friends and youth in the area who attacked the prostitutes with sticks and later set the wooden structures which serves as their abode on fire.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service were deployed to the scene to maintain peace and order while fire fighters were also called in to quench the inferno.
Some suspects have been picked up in connection with the incident by the police.
Some of the prostitutes who spoke to Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah said they were brutally attacked and beaten by the youth.
They indicated that all of their belongings have been lost to the fire and had nothing to depend on.
Unite Committee Chairman for the area, Christian Owusu said the brothel would be demolished.
