The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Osei Kofi Acquah is charging Muslims to declare Jihad on the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) by desisting from voting for them in future elections following the bribery scandal that hit Parliament.

He accused the Minority Chief Whip Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka and Member of Parliament for Bawku Central of throwing dust in the eyes of the public by refusing to tell Ghanaians especially Muslims the truth.

According to him, the two bigwigs of the NDC ridiculed the Holy Quran by peddling falsehood when they appeared on the ad hoc committee of Parliament chaired by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan constituency Joe Ghartey.

Speaking with Ultimatefmonline.com, he said one of the stalwarts is telling lies about the bribery allegation saying the NDC party should suffer due to the misconduct of the two.

A livid Acquah indicated that the two who hold key positions in the NDC are supposed to set exemplary lives for the youth to emulate than to go about disrespecting the Quran and the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

Mr Acquah further called on the chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and Muslim groups to disassociate themselves from their (Mr Ayariga and Alhaji Muntaka’s) actions.

"Obviously one of them is lying, Mahama Ayariga said he and his colleagues received the bribe from Alhaji Muntaka through the chairman of the Appointments Committee Joe Osei-Owusu prior to the approval of the energy minister Boakye Agyarko. But Alhaji Muntaka has vehemently denied the allegation, so which of these two is telling us lies?. They need to be punished for being bad examples to the youth who look up to them, they hold two of the largest Muslim constituencies in NDC, so to say.

"Ayariga is a former Minister of Information and Media Relations whiles Muntaka has also been a former minister of Youth and Sports, he was/is minority chief whip. The Chief Imam should not sit down aloof whiles the two NDC gurus drag the name of the Quran and the Muslim community into the mud," he said.

He called on Mr Ayariga and Alhaji Muntaka to render an unqualified apology for dragging Muslim community and the Quran into the mud to serve as a deterrent to other Muslim leaders in positions.
