Charlotte Osei stabbed herself in the back - Allotey Jacobs on new voters register

Former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has established that former EC boss, Charlotte Osei made the worst mistake of her life when she announced that their systems were hacked instead of just going ahead to declare the 2016 election results.

It could be recalled that after several hours of waiting for the 2016 election results to be announced amidst tensed drama from the two main political parties, (NDC and NPP) Charlotte Osei broke her silence, not with figures from the elections but with an excuse that their systems had been compromised for which reason she could not continue with the electronic transmission of the results.

But Mr Allotey who spoke in an interview with peace FM believes, that particular move by Madam Charlotte Osei, was the most imprudent and meaningless pronouncement she has ever made.

“It’s a game plan, its politics. Faceless people removed Charlotte Osei from office, Charlotte Osei should also be blamed for whatever happened to her. In the course of the 2016 elections, one statement she made which stabbed her in the back was when she stated that the system has been hacked when it was time to declare the results. Being the chairman and telling Ghanaians that the results you cannot declare is as a result of the machines being hacked. What are you trying to tell us,” he stated.

According to him, the former EC boss’s decision to state that the systems were hacked at that time instead of going ahead to announce the election results has given the NPP some sort of right to also protest for a new register.

“Now you have laid the foundation for the NPP to also come back and refer to the fact that because you said the system was hacked, there should be a new register,” he added
