The former personal bodyguard of President Nana Akufo-Addo, Nana Wireko Addo alias ‘Choman’ who was secretly filmed allegedly training a militia group at the Osu Castle was tasked to go after former appointees in the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration to return vehicles and other landed properties in their possession, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

He was “assigned an office there [Osu Castle] to work with a task force to retrieve landed properties and vehicles in the possession of officials of the erstwhile Mahama Administration” Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed.

The government spokesperson at a press conference last week, said that the man Nana Wireko Addo, was initially given access to the Osu Castle as a member of government task-force assigned to retrieve state vehicles from former government officials.

Though he has since August 2018 completed that job, Mr Oppong Nkrumah claimed Nana Wireko Addo unlawfully arrogated the office to himself without recourse to government.

Joy Fm’s Manasseh Azure Awuni investigations have found out Choman, a former personal bodyguard leads a pro-government militia group at the former seat of government

It is gathered the group received considerable state support, training in the Presidency Annex since the party won power in 2017 with Choman, the leader of the group having an office inside the Presidency Annex.

But Mr Oppong Nkrumah said Wireko Addo after his role, subsequently converted the office allocated to him into “a private business office for the stated purposes of his company”, De-Eye group, said to be affiliated to the government.
