Independent MP Aspirant calls for peaceful elections

Bomoakpole (W/R), Aug. 5, GNA - Mr Maxwell Essien, an independent parliamentary candidate for Ellembenle Constituency in the Western Region, has appealed to Ghanaians to be vigilant and ensure fair and peaceful elections come December 7, 2008. He made the appeal when he toured parts of the constituency and held rallies at Bomoakpole, Nvelesole and Anwiah to canvass support for his candidature. He expressed regret that the constituency remained under-developed even though it is the birth place of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, first president of the Republic of Ghana.

He made the appeal when he toured parts of the constituency and held rallies at Bomoakpole, Nvelesole and Anwiah to canvass support for his candidature. He expressed regret that the constituency remained under-developed even though it is the birth place of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, first president of the Republic of Ghana. Mr Essien, who is also the Assembly Member for Aiyinase Central and a Management Studies student at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), therefore, appealed to the electorates to vote for him to become the Member of Parliament for accelerated development. He said in his effort to fight poverty in the area, education would be his main priority by sensitizing parents to send their children to school. Mr Essien promised the people to tar most major roads in the area to ensure easy movement of goods and people when elected.
