There is no load shedding going on in the country as far as power supply is concerned, the Principal Public Relations Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr Eric Asante has assured Ghanaians.

His comment follows the recent erratic power supply across many areas in the country.

Many parts of the capital, since last week, have been experiencing erratic power supply across the rest of the country. Although the situation has persisted for over a week, the ECG has been silent.

Speaking on the development on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Class91.3FM, Mr Asante said the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) had some challenges generating power but that has been resolved.

He assured customers that power will be fully restored to the affected places by the close of work on Tuesday, 20 November 2018.

“The information we are getting from our generators, Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) is that they had a challenge with generation in the morning, and also in the evening on Monday, but luckily and fortunately they were able to restore supply around 8:00 pm and in the morning, too, they were able to solve the problem.

“As much as possible, what I will tell them is that we’re not experiencing any permanent problem that will plunge them into darkness for a period.

“Let me state here and now that what we are experiencing is not load shedding, we are not back to load shedding. It was a temporary challenge and the Ghana Grid Company are on top of the situation and as much as possible, those who have not received supply will receive supply,” Mr Asante said.
