The NPP National Nasara Coordinator, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, has refuted claims that the requirements from the EC for the new voters register is a plan to disenfranchise Zongo community from registering.
He stated that most of the Zongo youth have passports and have registered for the NIA card as well so there is no way they would be disenfranchised.
He was speaking at a seminar on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, to address issues and misconceptions about alleged plans by the Electoral Commission to prevent Zongo communities from registering in the upcoming voter registration exercise.
Speaking to Atinka News, Alhaji Futa stressed that, there is no way EC will do such a move.
He, therefore, assured them that they will do everything possible to ensure that all persons within the Zongo Community gets registered.
