Election 2020: Western Region a ‘no-go-area’ for NDC – Women’s Organiser

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Western Regional Women’s Organiser, Mrs. Abena Kwallah has declared the region as a ‘no-go-area’ for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) come 2020 general elections.

Western Region is currently having seventeen (17) Constituencies and the NPP has thirteen (13) parliamentary seats with the NDC keeping four (4) seats. The Region has been a swing region since 1992.

But, speaking to MyNewsGh.com at the Regional Women’s Conference at Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency under the theme “Mobilizing And Equipping Women For Victory 2020”, the NPP Western Regional Women’s Organiser said the women were ready for battle 2020 and Western Region was going to deliver on its promise by winning all the 17 seats in the region for New Patriotic Party (NPP).

She said that the NDC has no place in Western Region so far as the women’s wing was concerned and with a slogan Western Region is now a “no go area” for NDC.

“The NDC must forget about the 2020 general elections because we are going to beat them and take their only four parliamentary seats and add to our thirteen seats to make seventeen. We are going to make Western Region a no-go-area for them and I am going to empower our women to work harder for the party in 2020”, she emphasized.

She added, “the job dey grounds” and therefore urging all the Constituency Women Organizers and their Deputies, party activists, Polling Station Executives to continue the good work they were doing for the party, hence all must get involved for the party to retain power come 2020.

The longest serving Women’s Organiser in the Region for NPP added that, the newly inaugurated regional women’s maidens would be working with Constituency Women Organizers so the Constituency Women Organizers should embrace and work with them.

Mrs. Kwallah seized the opportunity to appeal to the party members to rally behind President Akufo-Addo by going round explaining what his government has done since 2017, urging them to be united and forgive each other and also think about the party how they struggled to win power in 2920.
