Former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasa Namoale has urged government through the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to employ the pro-ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vigilante group, Delta Force to sell tickets at the various Lorry Stations in the metropolis.

According to him, that is one good way they can expend their energies to a good course instead of engaging themselves in criminal activities.

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, members of the Delta Force stormed the venue of a meeting between the MP for Tafo, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei and his constituents and disrupted the program and in the process vandalize properties.

The angry youth and members say they had gone to the venue to tell the MP their piece of mind after allegedly neglecting them after the 2016 general elections. They claimed the MP promised them jobs in security agencies even if they don’t have any educational certificate.

But one year and eight months after being sworn into power, none of the people who worked as security guards and protected the ballot box have been offered any employment opportunity.

Two members of Delta Force believed to have had a hand in the attack who were arrested by the Police on Tuesday have been remanded into police custody by a Kumasi Circuit court.

Members of Delta Force in 2017 attacked the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator George Agyei claiming he doesn’t deserve to occupy that office as he did not contribute to their struggles during the 2016 electioneering campaign.

The group again stormed a Kumasi Circuit Court and freed their colleagues who were being tried for their involvement in the attack of the Security Coordinator.

Mr Namoale who is disturbed about the conduct of the group commenting on Peace FM Thursday urged the NPP to disband the Delta Force group and find them jobs even if they are menial jobs.

“I’m urging the NPP to disband the Delta Force group, debrief them and find them some work to do. They could be employed at the various Lorry Stations to sell tickets and make some money which will prevent them from engaging in such riotous behaviour. The Ghana Revenue Authority could even employ them to pursue companies who evade VAT, if these companies are charged then the GRA could give the Delta Force members commission, this will increase our revenue as a country. That will be a good way of putting their energies to good use.”
