"Ghana, as you know, is poised to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) at primary healthcare level by 2020 ahead of the deadline of 2030 through the support of partners and other stakeholders," he added.

He also asked the Regional Directors to note that the vehicles are by no means personal vehicles for District Directors, and as such, under no circumstances should they be misapplied. Managers have been entreated to ensure safety and regular maintenance of the vehicles.

The Director-General gave the assurance that the allocation letters of the vehicles will soon be sent to the managers, indicating the comprehensive insurance premium payable and the date for collection.

The GHS extended its heartfelt gratitude to JICA for the vehicles.
