Irrespective of being rich or poor, old or young, Ghanaians have the spirit of peace and joy, President John Dramani Mahama has said.
His comment come at a time Ghana is heading towards the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections vis-à-vis fears of violence.
Mr Mahama is currently in the Eastern Region for a five-day campaign tour as part of his preparations for the elections. Last week, he was in the Volta Region. His main contender in the elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is also in the Volta Region for a five-day tour as part of his preparations for the elections.
Both candidates have indicated they want a peaceful election.
Mr Mahama on Tuesday October 25 wrote on his Facebook page that : “Teachers, farmers, entrepreneurs, living in cities or in rural areas, young or old, rich or poor, men and women – we are all Ghana! We all share the same Ghanaian spirit of joy, peace and hope! And this spirit always prevails!”
