Greed caused 2016 NDC election defeat - Rawlings

A Former President and Founder of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings has stated that greed among some party members led to their loss in the 2016 general elections.

He claimed corruption increased to insane levels under John Mahama and accused them of departing from the values of probity and accountability which formed the basis under which the party was formed.

According to him, it was mainly because of the corruption that the NDC lost power to the governing New Patriotic Party.

He however, urged them to live in unity although the party is in opposition.

According to him, unity comes at a price, which includes truthfulness, integrity and sincerity, therefore, they should do away with the propaganda way of doing politics as they face opposition.
