Some foot soldiers of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) have expressed their bitterness at some decisions taken by party officials at the regional level paving way for presidential staffer Louise Carol Serwaa Donkor to pick nomination forms and file.
According to them, some members of the party who have served in various capacities to ensure the party stands firm are being treated with contempt as they prepare themselves to be selected while others who have over the years rained insults on foot soldiers a given undue advantage.
They wondered why Dr. Serwaa Donkor who has over the years disregarded and insulted foot soldiers of the party has been given a safe passage to pick forms to contest for the Old Tafo seat while Kofi Fosu Nkansah had to go through tough times just to pick up a nomination form.
The footsoldiers who spoke on Okyeman TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com sent a strong warning to party executives at the regional and local levels to desist from their activities aimed at stifling the efforts of some individuals who have paid their dues to the party and are ready to serve in the capacity as Members of Parliament(MPs).
Background
Kofi Fosu Nkansah, who is vying to represent the people faced difficulties in picking up nomination forms to contest the seat. According to reports, there were moves to stifle his ambition by some executives at the constituency level.
However, with Pressure mounted on the Executives, they gave in and he has since been allowed to pick the nomination forms to contest the seat.
The foot soldiers of the political party who are the heart of the party considering their hadwork for the political party over the years could not fathom why the executives resisted giving out the forms to Kofi Owusu who is known among the foot soldiers.
They expressed surprise at the fact that people like Louise Carol Serwaa Donkor who is the founder of Pepper Dem Ministries; a feminism group was given a free passage although she in a comment on Facebook made it known that she hates party foot soldiers who are the lifeline of the political party.
Her comment read “You shouldn’t”, she encouraged her friend who posted it. “You can’t reason with them (footsoldiers).”
