I have more enemies in NPP than the NDC – Kennedy Agyapong
New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Agyapong says he has made more enemies within the NPP than opposition parties because of his resolve to stand for the truth.
He believes his criticisms are not ill-intended but targeted at ensuring that President Akufo-Addo and his administration deliver on its election campaign promises.
This, he said, has attracted more enemies in his party to himself despite playing a similar role to criticize the erstwhile Mahama administration.
“I always stand for the truth but I sometimes expect ordinary people to also criticize the government if it goes wayward.
I believe those criticisms will serve the government better by putting it on its toes. The truth is that I have made more enemies in the NPP than the NDC because I know some of them hate me for speaking the truth” he said.
But that will not prevent Mr. Agyapong from playing his watchdog role well.
“I will correct all wrongs in NPP because should NDC come into power now, they will either kill me, collapse my business or find a flimsy charge against me to be jailed”, he alleged.
The Outspoken lawmaker was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” on Tuesday.
He says he has been warned on several occasions over his criticisms of some elements, he failed to name, in the NPP who are reaping from other people’s toil.
Mr. Agyapong has vowed to expose what he describes as greedy and selfish elements in the NPP pursuing their own interest at the expense of the collective interest of the government.
