President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Julius Debrah as his Chief of Staff as he begins his second term as President of Ghana.
Julius Debrah, who also served as Chief of Staff during Mahama’s first term, brings a wealth of experience to a government committed to resetting Ghana and making the country stronger and more prosperous.
Over the years, Debrah has worked for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) throughout the 4th Republic under all its presidents.
Photos circulating on social media highlight his involvement in the administrations of Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills, and John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking about his appointment, Julius Debrah remarked, “I knew I would be part of the presidential team, but I wasn’t too sure in what capacity, as it is the prerogative of the president. I believe, in his wisdom, he sees me as someone who can help hold his office together.”
When asked whether his appointment was due to his loyalty over the years, he explained, “The main reason is that he is looking for people who can work and understand him. If there is someone who can second-guess him, then probably I’m the one. I’ve spent so much time with him, and in addition to that, he values loyalty.”
However, Debrah emphasized that President Mahama’s appointments are not solely based on loyalty but also on competence and the ability to perform effectively.
